series of archival digital photographs (7 shown here + folio cover)
London / 2005/ 06/ 07 (ongoing)
This group of photographs records balloons, kites and other objects caught by the branches of city trees. Many objects end up in trees. Other objects include plastic bags, teddy bears, shoes and mannequin parts. Some stay awhile, exposed in Winter by the tree's skeleton and hidden away during the growth of Summer. Some are eventually retrieved by owners, tree surgeons or park keepers. Others remain trapped or snared and eventually disintegrate. Often these flying or projectile objects start their journey from a long way away (you can usually tell the ones that didn't). Although they are lost or discarded, they take up residence and bring unorganic evolution to the tree.
