A.M.Hanson's alexcalledsimon projects is a solo and collaborative on-going mixed/multi-media situation. Centred around a "body of `personality-based` concept characters" such as COUNTRY TRAMP, MISSY ISLAND, SUSAN TRIPOD, REBEL AGAINST THING and others.Their stories, aspirations and realities are expressed through photo folios and picture books, recorded and live performance, film and site specific works and installation. These characters present themselves to the world in a range of evolving and definitive guises and formats grounded in a collective desire to find themselves constantly at-and-off-the-centre-of-things, elsewhere and out there. They represent themes associated with modern environmental and social concerns and connected news stories. "Nature hits the city streets, the Country Tramp has veered off the footpath...."
